I am following the lesson given by Yusuf Estes.

I am a Malaysian and my first Language is Malay and second is English. I had been learning the Quranic Arabic, but I still consider myself as a beginner.

Let us follow the lesson:

a. Learn the letters - aliff, a straight line

b. It is fun that the sun is straight like a dot on the line.. this happen in the noon -- so the letter nun will come out.

c. Then there is a letter with one dot below...below... start with be .. like the arabic letter of Ba.

d. Three dots.. three... start with th.. Tha

It look like a real fun to learn Arabic... then we can go to segment 2...

kabur - had grown

abna uka --- consist of 2 words -- abna-- children and ka-- yoursنافكور

2. ana fahurun -- انافكور -- I am proud

3. عندماارى أبنئ يكبرونا

andama ara - when I see... عندماارى

ib ni - my children ............ أبنئ

yakburu na - has grown up ... يكبرون

learn arabic from IKIM

this is today lesson from the radio IKIM. It is part of my effort to learn arabic the hard way.

The word for this week is:
بكل سرور ......... bi kulli suru rin. means with pleasure or dengan hati yang terbuka.

The conversations are:

1. هل يمكلن ان تتبرع لدار إلآأيتام ... hal yomkimu an tatabaro aya li daa rin al aitaa ma.

Do you want to make donation to the house for the orphan.

Adakah awak hendak menderma kepada rumah anak yatim.

2. بكل سرور .... with pleasure ...dengan hati terbuka

دساعدت الاايتام طريق الى الجنه ... helping the orphan is the road to heaven.. menolong anak yatim ialah jalan ke syurga.

When these two words are combined, it mean with pleasure.

categories of words - nouns - isim

In Arabic, the words are categorized into 3 groups:

1 - isim, it is the nouns in English, hoever it is not exactly like the English grammar.

2 - fael, or verbs

3 - haraf -or particles.

من انت؟

'man' is an interrogative pronoun, or domir which can be translated as 'who'.

'anta' is an pronoun means 'you'

in Arabic, there is no verb 'to be'

So the sentence is translated as 'who are you'.

انا نديم٬انا طبيب امريكي

'ana Nadim' I am Nadim

'ana tobibun ameriki' .. tobibun means a doctor and ameriki is american.

Please note that the abjective is after the noun, unlike the English where it is before the noun.
